About UFFICIOTECNICO

UfficioTecnico is an independent design practice started by two brothers between South Tyrol and Veneto, Italy.

It began with 0001, an incense holder conceived in Japan from an interest in rituals and the gestures we repeat every day. We were curious about how objects become part of these routines, and how something as ordinary as burning incense can change the way we experience a space.

From this first project came the idea of creating our own practice. A place where we could be our first clients, follow personal interests and develop objects without waiting for someone else to ask for them.

We borrowed the name UfficioTecnico from the technical departments of Italian manufacturing companies. It describes the part of the process where ideas meet materials and the people who know how to work with them.

Our projects develop through experiments, revisions and collaborations with local manufacturers. Each one receives a progressive number, starting with 0001.

Together, they form an archive of things we wanted to make and questions we wanted to explore.
